Can the U4431A MIPI M-PHY protocol analyzer be controlled from an external PC via the AXIe mainframe's USB port? Or does it require an external LAN or PCIe connection to control the system?

Yes, the USB connected chassis option (M9502A-U20/M9505A-U20) is a viable connection strategy when using the U4431A M-PHY Protocol Analyzer instrument. For all host-connection solutions, only one is required (and only one can be used at a time).

Note that LAN is never a valid connection solution for the AXIe chassis, it is only used for connecting the host computer to the network.

The choices are:

  • Embedded Controller (no external connection needed)
  • PCIe connected remote PC/Laptop
  • USB connected remote PC/Laptop
