Is there an error in the delay/thru definition for the 85039B F-Type Calibration Kit?

The -129.0 ps delay for standard number 4, the "delay/thru", is in error. The specification should be set to 0 (zero) pS.

85039B Calibration Kit

The error is contained in the manual, within the calibration constants´ disk, and analyzer firmware (where applicable).

The delay/thru at -129.0 is an artifact of the previous calibration method for the 85039A kit. Users of the 85039B calibration kit should copy the default 85039B standards to a user kit and modify standard number 4, delay/thru, from -129 pS to 0 pS when the DUT is an "insertable" device.

The reason for the -129 ps delay on the thru definition is to compensate for the delay introduced when the thru is used to create an insertable calibration for a non-insertable setup. The negative delay is required for use with the previous generation of 875x products and is not necessary for the current PNA-based product line and as such should be set to 0 ps.
