MIMO的WiMAX实施

移动WiMAXTM是在IEEE 802.16e标准的基础上发展起来的,它正在不断克服市场限制,飞速向前发展。预计在2007年发布的第二波产品将包含MIMO(多路输入,多路输出)技术。该技术与MIMO智能天线技术连用,可以增加无线连接的数据容量并延长无线连接的距离。预计采用MIMO技术的移动WiMAX将能够承载比现有3G网络高4倍左右的通信流量,从而使无线视频变得更加可行。有关MIMO天线技术的更多信息,请查看 MIMO技术概览。

MIMO实施的独特之处是使用了OFDMA技术。在OFDMA中,用户数据猝发脉冲在时间上重叠。这最大限度地提高了复杂环境中的数据流量。

如图1中的Y轴所示,在任何一个时间点上,在不同子信道上都可获得来自多个猝发脉冲的数据。这些子信道是子载波的逻辑关系排列,而非物理关系排列。因此,相邻子载波实际上可能属于不同子信道分组,并采用不同的调制格式。虽然每个数据猝发脉冲只能是一种调制格式,但相邻子载波可以是不同的调制格式。因为每个猝发脉冲都是唯一的,所以导频将处于许多不同的子载波位置上。最终结果是,OFDM变得非常简单。
