- To ensure reliable database operation, please note the following requirements:
- SOS servers by default require that the database repository file system be mounted with options that ensure reliability. If the file system is mounted with the -soft option, the servers report an error and exit.
- If the repositories are hosted on NFS drives, then please check that the nfs-server exportfs is NOT setup to use async as it will allow the NFS server to violate the NFS protocol and reply to requests before any changes have been committed to stable storage. Using the async option is NOT recommended and risks data loss or corruption in the event of an unclean server restart, such as an NFS server crash.
