Description

Model Quality Assurance (MQA) Device Model Validation SoftwareIntroducing MQA 2014.04

As the industry standard SPICE model signoff and acceptance software, MQA 2014.04 ensures users to check model quality, run comparison QA and generate documentation automatically with a more complete and efficient manner.

BSIM-CMG checking routines

BSIM-CMG is a compact model for the class of common multi-gate FETs from UC Berkeley. Physical surface-potential-based formulations are derived for both intrinsic and extrinsic models with finite body doping. In 2012, BSIM-CMG became the first industry standard FinFET SPICE model. In MQA 2014.04, the default QA rules for BSIM-CMG model are consolidated and updated to ensure your success when adopting the cutting-edge technology.

Subckt parameter viewer

The new feature enables users to check elements of a subckt model along with kinds of input elements.

  • Interactive with your model card to choose the target and instances to plot
  • Quickly verify the model robustness during subckt creation
  • Understand and verify the behaviors of the subckt models in a library

Order and Template reporting function

The “Order and Template” reporting function is revived by the implementation of new codes. Thus the stability is greatly enhanced. It allows users to customize QA reports freely and easily by:

  • Filtering and changing the order of the plots/tables
  • Predefining the size and position of the plots/tables in the template
  • Predefining the layout in the template
  • Different template formats (Word, PowerPoint, and HTML) are available

Simplify Perl setup process

MQA supports the execution of Perl script-based rule files. In previous MQA versions, only the specific Perl version (5.10) was supported. In the MQA 2014.04 release, whenever there is Perl installed (version 5.8 or later), MQA can call it directly without any additional configuration process. It simplifies the setup process of Perl on the user side.

Other Enhancements

  • Default rule update on large signal validation
  • Cumulative distribution function (CDF) plot is added
  • TMI model parameter check
  • Supports IF/ELSE in ADS model equation
  • Supports selecting/deselecting P-axis on GU
