Is my SONiC ready?

As vendors contribute new features, they add tests to the community test bed infrastructure. Two popular test frameworks are available today:

• The community test bed is a packet test Framework (PTF) – and Arista Virtual Extensible Operating System (vEOS) – based test infrastructure. It gives functional test coverage with the tests contributed during feature commitments to the SONiC Git repository.

• Spytest involves commercial test tools such as Keysight traffic generators and a vendor-agnostic high-level test application programming interface. It is a Broadcom contribution and has added coverage over the community test bed.

In conversations with newcomers to the SONiC ecosystem and some existing players, we find numerous challenges when it comes to testing to determine SONiC readiness. Figure 2 details some common challenges.
