With the trend of emerging applications such as 5G/6G and automotive industries, the impedance measurements of small SMDs, such as 0201 (mm) (008004 (inch)) or 0402 (mm) (01005 (inch)) capacitors and inductors, at the operating frequency ranges are indispensable to evaluate and characterize the components. The 16198A bottom electrode SMD test fixture with Keysight impedance analyzers has been the standard solution up to 3 GHz for impedance measurements on SMDs. The new option on the 16198A test fixture with the dedicated calibration kit and software enables the E5080B ENA vector network analyzer to make stable impedance measurements for 0201/0402 (mm) bottom electrode SMDs. This complete solution provides accurate and stable impedance measurement up to 10 GHz.
