Industry Leading Output Power Performance

The E8257D PSG analog signal generator equipped with Option 1EA provides the industry's best output power performance up to 67 GHz and often eliminates the need for external amplifiers. Output power improves over standard performance typically 10 dB at 20 GHz, 11 dB at 30 GHz, 8 dB at 40 GHz, and 9 dB at 67 GHz (see data sheet for details). This can result in measured output powers of up to +25 dBm with superior level accuracies for precise characterization of your device under test.

Ultrahigh output power of > +30 dBm (typ) is available with Option 521.

Typical Applications

Option 1EA is recommended for signal generation applications that require high power signals to stress the devices under test. Use the additional output power to compensate for path losses from system components or to effectively characterize transceivers. Common test applications include amplifier linearity verification, blocking and interference generation, and receiver maximum input level characterization. The additional power also eliminates the need for external drive amplifiers at the output of the PSG when using Keysight mm-wave modules to generate frequencies up to 325 GHz.
