Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms (MSPPs) allow packet technologies such as Ethernet to co-reside with legacy TDM traffic on an SDH infrastructure. The Converged Network Acquisition Card (CNAC) is the front-end acquisition processing platform which incorporates unique discovery and correlation logic. The CNAC processing component provides signal discovery and subsequent reassembly. The CNAC Card is used in-conjunction with the Survey Analyst Suite (SAS) application to provide easy-to-use visualization of the discovered SDH tributary structures, encapsulation inferences and provides a graphical view into the structure and content of the tributaries present in the SDH bearer. The discovery map can be used to task the CNAC card to select and filter signals of interest to an Ethernet output stream or output file.
