Key Features & Specifications

Signal creation with navigation mode

  • Simulates real-world GPS satellite signals with navigation data for testing GPS receivers
  • Up to 15 line-of-sight satellites, with up to 32 total channels for line-of-sight plus multipath signals (includes GLONASS satellites if option is enabled)
  • Simulate stationary or moving GPS receivers
  • Control power levels and satellite visibility and add impairments such as multipath while signal is playing

Signal creation with static test mode

  • Enables testing of the satellite tracking capability of a GPS receiver or IC
  • Select individual satellite vehicle (PRN) IDs for up to 32 channels
  • Set the power, delay (in chips or ms), and Doppler shift individually for each satellite
  • Custom 30-bit GPS word input

  • Fixed, perpetual license (Option QFP)
  • Also available as a transportable license (Option QTP) for X-Series signal generators

Option QFP provides real-time GPS signal generation capability in two different modes. Navigation mode creates signals that contain valid navigation data based on the selected scenario file, allowing the GPS receiver under test to obtain a location fix. Either stationary or moving GPS receivers can be simulated, and various impairments can be added to the signals using the scenario generator option N7609B-RFP. The power and visibility of individual satellites can be changed while the signal is active. The static test mode can be used to simulate up to 32 satellites for testing receiver sensitivity and tracking when a location fix is not required. Real-time adjustments can be made to the power, delay, and Doppler shift for each satellite.

Note: Option QFP has been replaced by Option PFP Advanced GPS real-time and scenario generation, which combines the features of options QFP and RFP into a single option.

This option can be added as a product upgrade.
