Description

The Advanced Design System (ADS) WiMedia Wireless Library Element provides the full RF-PHYverification for the Ultra Wideband (UWB) WiMedia wireless personal area network (PAN) that delivers high-speed (>480 Mbps), low power multimedia capabilities for PC, consumer electronics, mobile, automotive and military applications. This wireless library provides the "Golden Standard" signal processing models and preconfigured simulation for Keysight’s Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software to verify the RF components of the physical layer for compliance against the WiMedia UWB specifications. The WiMedia Wireless Library Element provides preconfigured simulation setups, signal sources, and fully coded BER analysis for simulation of the circuitry used in WiMedia based products.

WiMedia refers to WiMedia Alliance, a not-for-profit open industry association that promotes and enables the rapid adoption, regulation, standardization and multi-vendor interoperability of ultra wideband (UWB) worldwide. WiMedia-based UWB specifications have been architected and optimized for wireless personal-area networks delivering high-speed (480Mbps and beyond), low-power multimedia capabilities for the PC, CE, mobile and automotive market segments.

The WiMedia Wireless Library incorporates the latest specification in the WiMedia standard. Design and Verification Engineers involved in WiMedia based product development can save months of work by using the pre-configured testbenches in this library.

The WiMedia Wireless Library Element is designed for Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), and it can also be imported into Keysight RF Design Environment (RFDE). This allows RFIC designers to access WiMedia test benches within the Cadence Virtuo Custom IC platform through links developed as part of the alliance between Keysight and Cadence Design Systems.
