Microwave Designers who need to synthesize and analyze a passive filter will find the Filter DesignGuide very useful.

The Filter DesignGuide provides SmartComponents and Automated-Assistants for the design, simulation, and performance analysis of common passive filters. SmartComponents are subnetwork designs that can be placed into a schematic and contain the synthesized schematic of the filter. SmartComponents are included for filters, and matching networks (doubly terminated filters, singly terminated filters, bandpass transformers and matching networks).
Automated-assistants include:

  • Filter Assistant - to generate and update a filter design from a given set of specifications
  • Matching Assistant - to generate and update a matching circuit or transformer design from a given set of specifications
  • Simulation Assistant - to simulate and analyze the resulting synthesized design
  • Sensitivity Assistant - to analyze the design sensitivities for +/- percent component tolerances
  • Display Assistant - to easily and quickly display the performance of a SmartComponent
