The optical channel (OChr) pattern for use with the 71612 error performance analyzer has the following properties:

- Data is frame aligned (first 6 bytes are FAS = f6f6f6282828)
- Data is multi-frame aligned (first frame has MFAS = 00, and is scrambled)
- 64 OChr* frames
- Scrambling is enabled
- Forward error correction (FEC) is enabled
- Payload is 29-1 PRBS test pattern (bulk-filled) with no pattern errors
- Overhead is all zeros except for calculated bytes

*OChr refers to Optical channel structures with reduced functionality (payload only, no overhead)
