Introduction
This application note provides technical details on the major differences between the Keysight 662xA and N67xx DUT power supplies used in Keysight i3070 ICT system, in order to help users develop new or migrate existing programs to the new systems.
This application note is designed to be used in conjunction with the Keysight 662xA Operation Manuals as well as the Keysight N6700 Data Sheets and User’s
66xx vs.N67xx Modular Power System (MPS)
The 66xx series are the legacy, long serving (20+ years) DC power supply, which are widely used in i3070 In-Circuit Test (ICT) system as the DUT Power supplies. However, the 66xx series was discontinued on July 1, 2016.
The N67xx MPS is a module-based power system that consists of a mainframe (N6700A/B/C) and modules (N673xB to N676xA). Up to four output modules can be installed in each N6700A/B/C mainframe.
In most cases, these N67xx modules are a superset of the 662x’s outputs in terms of features and capabilities, are chosen as the replacement in i3070 system. However, N67xx series are not drop-in replacements for 66xx series, here are some major differences in the following electrical aspects:
