E5071C-TDR Firmware & Application Software Update

Overview

The software contained in this page enable users to

1. Install/Update the TDR application on your E5071C ENA network analyzer.
2. Remotely control the TDR application on your E5071C ENA network analyzer with external PCs.

1. Download Instructions for Firmware and TDR Application Update for E5071C

1. Copy the files E5071C Firmware Revision and E5071C-TDR Application Software to a temporary directory (e.g. C:TEMP) on your computer's hard drive.
   Warning: Version B.xx.xx is for the E5071C with Windows 7 only. Use A.xx.xx for the E5071C with Windows XP. Do not install version B.xx.xx on the E5071C with Windows XP.
2. Extract the files by selecting the temporary directory and unzip the .exe files by double-clicking on the file.
3. Perform installation procedures following Updating E5071C-TDR firmware and application.

2. Download Instructions for TDR Application Remote Control for your PC

1. Copy the file Keysight IO Libraries Suite to a temporary directory (e.g. C:TEMP) on your computer's hard drive and install it on your PC if it is not installed.
2. When your unit is the E5071C with Windows XP, download revision A.01.xx. When it is one with Windows 7, download revision B.02.xx.
   Select either of 32 bit Version or 64 bit version for "E5071C-TDR Remote Control Software" in accordance with your PC Operating System, and copy the file to a temporary directory (e.g. C:TEMP) on your computer's hard drive.
3. Extract the files by selecting the temporary directory and unzip the .exe files by double-clicking on the file.
4. Perform installation procedures following Installing E5071C-TDR application to PC.

    Note:

• Ensure that the same revision of the E5071C-TDR application software is installed on the E5071C ENA Network Analyzer.
• IO libraries Suite 16.1.14931.0 must be installed before the installation of the E5071C-TDR remote control software.
• When you have both the E5071C with Windows 7 and the E5071C with Windows XP, you can install the TDR remote application both revision A and B into the same PC. Execute the corresponding version of remote according to the connected the E5071C. For example, when you control the E5071C with Windows 7, execute the TDR remote application revision B.

Known Issues for TDR application

• The remote control does not work with IO Library 2018 via SICL-LAN Server. Use TDR address of "TCPIP0::localhost::55025::SOCKET" via SOCKET Server instead of “TCPIP0::localhost::inst0::INSTR”
