Power Converter Design and Test Workshop

This workshop is ideal for engineers, technicians, and managers in power electronics who need to optimize their power converter circuits across all phases of the design cycle. You will learn about power device and component evaluation (including the use of wide bandgap (WBG) devices), design simulations, and device debug and optimization.

You will get extensive hands-on experience performing a broad range of measurements including frequency response testing using an oscilloscope with the power measurements option and voltage & current probes that have been optimized for power supply testing. You will also gain experience making high accuracy power measurements using a power analyzer.

Testing and Debugging Automotive Electronics
Using an Oscilloscope Workshop

This workshop will provide an extensive hands-on experience to test and debug automotive designs using some of the advanced features and measurement capabilities of Keysight’s InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series Oscilloscope. Class sizes are limited to allow for 2-3 individuals per test station, so every participant will be able to experience the value of these oscilloscopes.

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Capturing random and infrequent automotive transients
  • Decoding and triggering on the CAN bus at a hexadecimal level
  • Importing an industry-standard .dbc file to symbolically decode and trigger on the CAN bus at a message and signal level
  • Using segmented memory acquisition to capture multiple and consecutive CAN bus errors
  • Dual-bus “gateway” analysis (CAN and LIN)
  • Characterizing CAN bus arbitration and bus load
  • Testing the overall quality of the differential CAN bus physical layer using eye-diagram mask testing
