Keysight Device Security Workshop 2025: A 9-City Global Recap

From April to September 2025, the Keysight Device Security team hosted the Device Security Workshop series, connecting with hundreds of embedded security professionals across nine cities and three continents.

Each event delivered more than presentations: participants gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge testing tools, deep technical insights from industry experts, and opportunities to collaborate with peers from around the world.

A Global Tour of Innovation and Collaboration

This year’s series took us to:

Each stop offered a unique format, ranging from standalone workshops to full-day training sessions and, in Delft, an advanced multi-day training program. Regardless of format, every event was united by a common goal: to advance embedded device security and foster meaningful connections between experts, clients, and enthusiasts.

What brought participants together was the opportunity for hands-on experience with cutting-edge security testing tools, insights from leading industry experts and researchers, valuable networking with peers from diverse industries, and deep technical dives into Keysight's Inspector toolset and advanced testing solutions.

The highlight of every stop was the debut of the DS1050A Next Generation Embedded Security Testbench. Built on a scalable PXI platform, it impressed attendees with faster, more precise testing and seamless integration into existing workflows. The live demos showcased how it boosts both efficiency and flexibility, making it easier than ever to test against evolving security threats.

CHES 2025: Solving the Scale Challenge with DS1050A

Our participation in CHES 2025 provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the true capabilities of our PXI-based next-generation testbench. Many researchers share a common challenge: their side-channel analyses often stop at around one million traces, primarily due to the limitations of entry-level tools. From our extensive Common Criteria certification projects, we understand that 500 million traces or more are frequently required, a process that previously took weeks to complete. With the DS1050A Next Generation Embedded Security Testbench, we can now capture millions of traces per second, reducing acquisition time to days or even minutes. This breakthrough not only accelerates certification testing but also opens new possibilities for advancing evaluations of post-quantum cryptography implementations and beyond.

What truly made the series stand out was the audience. Representatives from semiconductor leaders, specialized test labs, and top research institutes all came together, sparking conversations that will shape the next wave of security standards and solutions.
