Umar is an experienced product leader with over a decade of expertise in photonic design, EDA tools, and management across the semiconductor and communications sectors. At Keysight Technologies, he drives the strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market execution for Photonic Designer— a state-of-the-art software platform for the design, simulation, and verification of photonic integrated circuits.

Umar collaborates closely with customers, R&D teams, and industry partners to advance innovation in photonics through model-driven design methodologies and hybrid digital twins that seamlessly integrate simulation with real-world measurements.

He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Photonics and is passionate about bridging the gap between design and manufacturing in next-generation photonic systems.
