Frequently-Asked Questions
--------------------------
A list of Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs) for
Agilent IntuiLink is available in the faqs directory
on the Agilent IntuiLink CD-ROM (in .txt format).

For the latest list of FAQs, go to the Agilent web site
at www.tm.agilent.com and click
on "Technical Support".

Configuration of RS232 using Built in IO LIbrary
------------------------------------------------
If IntuiLink is installed on a system which does not contain
Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Office or Agilent I/O
Libraries, the application will not initially find the serial
ports of the computer.

To correct this, re-install IntuiLink. When the maintenance
option screen appears, select "repair". The serial ports will
now be operational.

Windows 95 and Agilent SICL F.01.01 and Earlier
-----------------------------------------------
Windows 95 32-bit Agilent SICL and VISA versions F.01.01 and
earlier will, by default, yield the CPU during I/O operations.
Agilent IntuiLink requires that the CPU not be yielded during
I/O operations. This is the default operation for Agilent SICL
versions F.01.02 and later.

For Agilent SICL versions F.01.01 and earlier, add a registry entry
which instructs SICL not to yield during I/O operations.
Add the following key:

"HKLM/Software/Hewlett-Packard/SICL/CurrentVersion/Options"

Under this key, add a string entry "Yield" with a value "false".

Windows 95 and Agilent SICL 'Options' Menu
------------------------------------------
In the I/O Configuration program, the following selections
are available in the 'Options' menu:

SICL Yield (Win95 only)
- False (Default) * SICL does not yield the CPU during I/O
- True * SICL yields the CPU during I/O

Note: SICL Yield must be 'False' for proper operation of some
Plug&Play drivers. This will prevent a potential deadlock
from within a Windows message handler.

LabVIEW Version 5.1 Required
----------------------------
The Agilent instrument ActiveX Control will not work properly
in versions of LabVIEW prior to version 5.1.

Use Default Settings for RS-232 Serial Operations
-------------------------------------------------
If you are using the RS-232 serial interface (COM1 or COM2)
to connect your Agilent 33250A or 33120A Arbitrary Waveform
Generator to your PC, we recommend that you use the default
settings, which follow:

Baud Rate: 9600
Parity: None
Size: 8 bits
Handshake: DTR/DSR

Waveform data consists of 8-bit bytes, so any other size setting
will result in an error.
