IO Libraries Suite: What is included with the Keysight IO Libraries Suite?

VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) is the implementation of the standard developed by the VXIplug&play System Alliance to define the standard library for instrument communication. This is not Keysight-specific and is adhered to by the test and measurement industry. The VISA library provides most of the capability of SICL in a way that conforms to industry standards. A program written to work with the VISA library will work with implementations of VISA from other vendors. Keysight's implementation of VISA is provided with its SICL libraries. VISA is optimized for use from C and C++ and can be used from Visual Basic and other environments that can call arbitrary Windows® DLLs. Keysight provides header files to facilitate the use of VISA in Microsoft® Visual Basic .NET and C#.
