Good Morning All,

I'm trying to set up an 8267D to generate a pulse doublet, but no luck so far. The manuals have little to say about it - only that this mode requires an external trigger. I assume that means the Trigger In port on the rear panel. I've applied a trigger to every input on the front and rear panel to no avail. What determines the doublet spacing - the pulse delay field? The instrument has options 015, 1ED, 1EH, 520, 602, UNR, UNT, and UNU. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Leo B -

Here is a example of how to set the Pulse Doublet:
E8267D press: Preset, Freq 5Ghz, Amplitude 0dBm-> ALC off-> Power Search-> Power Search->Auto, RF on.
Pulse->Pulse Source->Int Doublet->Pulse Width .5us->Pulse delay 2us->Pulse ON.

External Pulse generator setting:
Pulse period = 10us
Pulse Width = 1us
Pulse level = 3V (TTL)

Connect the External Pulse output to E8257D “Gate/Pulse/Trigger input” in the front panel. If the unit has option 1EM, then it’s in the rear.

You should see a first pulse with 1us then a second pulse with 0.5us starting 2us (Pulse Delay) after the beginning of the 1st pulse.

..1us……….. ...0.5us..

<----------2us----------->
