Hello,

I'm currently trying to open a session on a 16702A Logic Analyzer, from Cygwin\X software within Windows XP environment. The main communication protocols packages have been installed : telnet / rsh / rcp-nfs ...

I can telnet the logic analyzer, and log in, but the Session Manager is not launched. I get the message : "Starting Session Manager on display my_machine:0.0", and a few seconds later, the connection is aborted.
I tried to run the SessionMgr from the : /usr/sprockets/bin/ directory, but I get an xscreensaver error. (Can you tell me which parameters need to be given ?)

Do you have any idea ?

Note : I haven't installed any Agilent application on my windows computer, do I need any driver/application to remotly run sessionmgr ?

Thanks,

Alex

I managed to launch the remote session thanks to the analyzer webpage (@ http://analyzer_name/). But my application still needs to launch the session manager from cygwin

One more question : is there any possibility to login, from the http://analyze_name/xsessionstart, with an other login, not "Logic" ?

With luck, this will pop to the top of the forums...even though it's old.

I'm having the same trouble as the OP. What's the display name on the client 16700? (the one i'm using as a console running the x-server)

I've tried connecting to a 16700 from a 16702 and vice-versa using the telnet dialog

I've tried xterm on linux & MobaXterm and Putty on win7 on several PCs.

I've tried exporting DISPLAY={everything i can think of}

nothing works.

I can VNC to either box, having found the secret "colon one" that's not in the books (xx.xx.xx.xx:1) but VNC does not allow me to SHUTDOWN on a shared session.

I wish to SHUTDOWN before sending a message to the LAN switch to yank the power on the 16700(2) so I can power-cycle the instrument.

It is nice that upon power-up, the shared session becomes available so I can VNC again.
