How is an external DVM wired to a 34901A relay card?

34972A with a 34901A card, I want to read the switched signals with an External DVM.
How is that DVM wired to the 34901 and what relays need to be closed to use it for voltage measurements?

This is addressed on pages 111 through 114 of the 34970A/72A User's Guide under "Scanning with External Instruments. The 34901A has two 10 channel banks and each bank has a set of common terminals. See the complete 34901A topology on page 201. Note that the programming example segment on page 114 does not include the ROUT:SCAN (@<ch_list>) command that defines the scan list, because this command is common to scanning with the internal DVM and is covered in the previous section on scanning in Chapter 4
