Hello dude,
I'm a new to agilent product. I have 34970A Data Acquisition / Data Logger Switch Unit which is intended to used for data logging. And I have a NI GPIB-USB-HS GPIB controller (http://sine.ni.com/psp/app/doc/p/id/psp-354/lang/en) which is used for communication between PC and 34970a. The system info of PC is Windows XP SP3. My setup for these devices are as follow:
1) Install NI driver for NI GPIB-USB-HS
2) Install Agilent IO Libraries Suite 16.2
3) Install BenchLink Data Logger 3 Software for 34970A/34972A

After installing, NI can detect NI GPIB-USB-HS, but Agilent IO connection expert cannot. So my question is, Is it 34970A compatible with NI GPIB-USB-HS GPIB controller? If answer is yes, please guide me how to solve the communication problem.

Best regards,
pak

Hi pak,

I have an NI GPIB-USB-B, which is very similar to the HS. I have NI-488.2 installed, Agilent IO Libraries Suite 16.2, and Benchlink Datalogger 3. This works for me.

See my attachment for what you should see in each of the 3 tools.

If that doesn't help, please attach images for what the device looks like in:
1) NI-MAX
2) Agilent Connection Expert
3) Benchlink Datalogger

The 34970A/34972A should be powered on and connected through the process
