Hello,

i'm looking for a simple c# example for the module U2355A to test the communication.
I want to install the "Agilent Modular Products Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Project Templates" but the installation programm crashed allways. I use a Windows 7 system with the visual c# 2010 express developement software.
Can someone send me an example or a link.

Thanks very much.

Yes, I'd like to look at those too: also using VS 2010 and it raises error 1722 both on installation and uninstall.

Actually what I'm intending doing is communicating to a U2300 device from Java: I'm pretty familiar with bridging across to native code but I wanted to see the 'recommended' route e.g. using a .NET class that works directly with the module, via IVI, SCPI or the like through the Agilent I/O libs. Any pointers, code examples ( in C# would be okay ) most appreciated!

For the more general question, there should be some programming examples included with the IVI drivers for these devices. The IVI drivers can be downloaded from http://www.agilent.com/find/ivi

So Mike, you plan on using this Java code only on a Windows box? If on some other platform, what will you use as an I/O layer?

For LAN its pretty straightforward to use TCP/IP SOCKET's on port 5025, but there's not really a silver bullet for other interfaces, like USB, on non-Windows platforms.

Thanks for that hognala. Yes, I found the IVI driver also includes lots of sample code, including for C# and works fine in VS 2010.

And yes, Java - it's a long history why it was used in the first place for this application - and it will only be on Windows. I might add the example to this as a thread when I get there as there is a fair interest in the subject in general. Whilst my choice would normally be VEE for test & measurement applications ( and indeed there is another app written in VEE which will be a snap to convert to use the U2352 ) but there are cases where Java might be a bettor choice - or like here where the choice has already been made.

Hi,

I am having the same trouble as the original post. I will be writing code in Visual C++ so the other suggestions don't help me. Windows 7, Visual Studio 2005.

Thanks
