Firmware A.01.70 Issues Resolved

Model

Option

Description

N5162A & N5182A

All

Added the ability to control how the source transitions to new power levels with IQ modulation turned on. The default state remains turning off modulation and transitioning as fast as possible but two new modes are available which maintain modulation during power transitions (but they take longer to settle to final value). New softkey options for RMS (the default, turn modulation off and transition as fast as possible), Mod or NBMod (Narrow Band Modulated) and new scpi command [:SOURce]:POWer:ALC:TRANsition:REFerence.

All

All

Added the ability to change how harmonics are optimized below 3GHz when using newer versions of hardware. If your box has the appropriate version of hardware a new softkey will appear Ampl->More->More->Power Opt Modes->Optimize Harmonics. This provides better harmonics at the expense of AM and Pulse performance and the ability to use Attenuator Hold mode.

N5162A & N5182A

UNZ

Boxes without option UNZ and vector modulation applied had excessively long periods of CW signal applied during frequency or power changes compared to UNZ enabled boxes. This fixes non UNZ boxes to have the same period of CW applied compared to UNZ boxes.

N5162A & N5182A

403

Changed how bandwidth is specified in AWGN mode. "Bandwidth" changed to "Flat Bandwidth" and you can now set "Channel Bandwidth", "Channel Noise Power" and "Bandwidth Ratio". See the documents on AWGN for more details.

All

All

Improved Sanitization
