Important: Please note highlighted text in paragraph 4, which explains that download must begin with six NON-bootable floppy disks.

As a user of Keysight Internet Advisor Option 506 (replace internal hard disk drive with external drive), any software upgrade you have received is not compatible with your external hard disk option. This download is used to reload Windows 95 OSR2.

To upgrade the Internet Advisor software, follow the instructions in the install.pdf file that is part of this download.

You will need to re-install Windows 95 OSR2 for Rev. 10.1. You should download these installation preparation disk files.

Before you begin the download, format six non-bootable floppy disks to create the correct installation preparation disks. To create the preparation disks:

  1. Download the file iaopt506.exe to drive c:. This is a self-extractimg file that will create six disk images.
  2. Run this self-extracting file with a -d parameter. This will create the sub-directory "iatmp" which will contain six disk images (bios307.exe, dailyuse.exe, startup.exe, insprep1.exe,insprep2.exe, and addrivr.exe)and an installation file (install.pdf).
  3. Create the six installation disks.

Insert one of the floppy disks into drive a:. Change to the "iatmp" directory and then run the file bios307.exe to extract the file to floppy disk. Insert the next floppy disk and run the next file; repeat this procedure until all six files are extracted to the floppy disks.

Once you have created the six installation preparation disks, print the file install.pdf* (in the iatmp subdirectory). Follow these instructions to re-install Windows 95 on your external hard disk drive.

*You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 (or greater) to view and print install.pdf. You can download Acrobat Reader from the Adobe web page. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Keysight recommends using the most current version, which includes the most up-to-date bug fixes and security patches available.
