8753E Firmware Upgrade, Revision 07.40

The 8753E firmware upgrade, revision 07.40, is compatible with Windows 3.1, WindowsNT and Windows95® operating systems¹.

This firmware upgrade is compatible with all 8753E vector network analyzers. This revision of firmware provides the 8753E with two auxiliary measurement channels in addition to the two primary measurement channels, thus all four S-parameter measurements may be displayed simultaneously. Downloading Instructions

To download the 8753E firmware upgrade, click on the hyperlink provided below. When the "Save As" dialog box appears, save the 8753e740.exe file to your computer's hard drive.

This file is an MS-DOS® self-extracting file. Select start, run and type in the path to the file, or press the browse button to navigate through the directory structure to the file. Select the OK button. This process will uncompress the 8753E_07._40 file², 8753e740.pdf file which is the firmware installation note provided as a supplement to the installation instructions below and 7_40user.pdf which is the user's guide supplement for 4-parameter display firmware. Viewing or printing this installation note requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Installation Instructions

Transfer only the firmware upgrade files to an MS-DOS formatted 3.5-inch disk. Insert the disk into the network analyzer's floppy-disk drive. If the power is off, turn on the network analyzer to upload the new firmware into the instrument. If the instrument is on, then simply cycle the power to upload the firmware. Once the file has finished uploading, the instrument will display the new firmware revision number. After installation of the firmware upgrade, the 8753E vector network analyzer is ready for use.

²Do not change the filename. The network analyzer will not recognize and load the file if the filename has been changed.
