An SD flash memory card used with a FieldFox instrument must meet the requirements outlined below. The requirements depend on the FieldFox model and the firmware revision.

In order to make use of an SD card with a FieldFox it is generally necessary to read/write the SD card on a PC.

There are three physical sizes of SD cards: micro, mini, and standard. Adapters are available that allow a smaller card to be used in a larger slot.

Keysight does not supply SD cards or adapters. See recommendations below for advice on obtaining these parts.

N9912A Requirements

  • Physical size**: may be "mini SD for earlier units" or "micro SD for newer units"
  • Memory size: no restriction when firmware is A.04.00 or greater. If firmware A.03.xx or earlier, must be 2 GB or less.
  • **Note: To determine which is the correct SD card, please check the label on the side of the IO input. See the following Service Note to determine which size card you need. http://literature.cdn.keysight.com/litweb/pdf/N9912A-06A.pdf

N9923A Requirements

  • Physical size: must be "micro"
  • Memory size: no restriction.

N9913A, N9914A, N9915A, N9916A, N9917A, N9918A, N9925A, N9926A, N9927A, N9928A, N9935A, N9936A, N9937A, N9938A Requirements

  • Physical size: must be standard SD
  • Memory size: no restriction.

Recommendation for obtaining SD cards/adapters

  1. An adapter will typically be required to read/write a "mini" or "micro" SD card in a PC.
  2. Search the web for "SD card adapters" to identify possible sources.
  3. A 2 GB micro SD card with "mini" and "standard" adapters will cover all FieldFox needs. A Kingston Technology part number SDC/2GB-2ADP is possible solution (http://www.kingston.com/flash/sd_micro_adpt.asp).
