How do I start using the software provided with the 34405A Digital Multimeter for datalogging?

Follow the steps below to begin datalogging using the software provided with the 34405A Digital Multimeter:
1. Install the Keysight IO Libraries Suite from the CD that is shipped together with the instrument.
2. Connect the instrument to your PC or laptop
i. Connect the instrument to the USB port(s) on your PC or laptop with a USB 2.0-compliant USB cable, even if you are using USB 1.1 operations.
ii. Click Start> All Programs> Keysight IO Libraries Suite>Keysight Connection Expert to launch the Keysight Connection Expert.
iii. Turn on the instrument you connected. The Keysight Connection Expert will automatically detect the instrument. The "Assign USB device alias" window will pop-up, as shown below.

iv. Assign a different Alias Name if you want to. Then, click OK.
v. Double-click the Keysight IO Control icon at your PC/laptop's task bar, as shown below.

The "Keysight Connection Expert" window will appear, as shown. It will show that the instrument is connected to your PC or laptop.

3. Install the Intuilink software from the Product Reference CD that is shipped together with the instrument.
4. Establish a connection between the instrument and the Intuilink software.
i. Open Microsoft® Excel and activate the Intuilink toolbar from View -> Toolbars -> Keysight Intuilink Multimeter

ii. Click on the Connect button in the Intuilink toolbar, as shown below, to initiate a connection.

The "Connect to Multimeter" window will appear, as shown below.

iii. Select the USB address and click on the Identify Instrument(s) button. You will see the 34405A multimeter on your computer.
iv. Click on the Connect button. The status will show as "Connected" when connection has been established.
v. Close the dialog box once connected.
5. Setup the Intuilink to datalog a specific measurement
i. Ensure that the test lead or E2308A thermistor probe is connected to the input terminal of the instrument.
ii. Click on the Set Up Multimeter button on the Intuilink toolbar. The "Set up Multimeter" window will appear, as shown below.

iii. In the "Set up Multimeter" window, select a function, measurement range and resolution. Then, click OK.
iv. Click on the Set up/Run Logging Worksheet button on the Intuilink toolbar. The "Set up/Run Logging Worksheet" window will appear, as shown below.

v. In the "Set up/Run Logging Worksheet" window, enter the logging interval and duration for the intended datalog. Then, click OK.
Datalogging will start automatically, as shown in the example below.
