Why can't the IntuiLink Toolbar find my PSA, ESA, or EMC Series Analyzer via GPIB?

Intuilink is no longer supported and has been replaced by BenchVue Software.
This information has been kept in this FAQ for existing users of Intuilnk that have not yet migrated to using BenchVue.

Verify you have the following:

  • Latest version of the IntuiLink Toolbar for ESA-E/L/EMC and PSA Series Analyzers has been installed on your Desktop or Laptop PC.
  • Latest version of the Keysight IO Libraries Suite and all available patches. This is available at https://www.keysight.com/find/iolib

Open the Connection Expert by clicking on <Start>, <All Programs>, <Keysight IO Libraries Suite>, <Keysight Connection Expert> and verify that the instrument you want to connect to is listed in the "Instrument I/O on the PC" column. (See image below)

Start either Microsoft Word or Excel.

If the PSA/ESA Spectrum analyzer toolbar is not present, then enable it by going to, <View>, <Toolbars>, and click on "PSA/ESA Spectrum Analyzer".

If this toolbar is not selectable, then click on <Start>, <All Programs>, <Keysight IntuiLink>, <PSA-ESA>, and click on either <Start Excel Toolbar Admin> or <Start Word Toolbar Admin>.

Enable the toolbar in Excel or Word by clicking on <View>, <Toolbars>, <PSA/ESA Spectrum Analyzer>

Click on the "Connect to PSA/ESA-E/L Spectrum Analyzer Button" on the PSA/ESA toolbar as shown in the image below.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the instrument is not displayed in the "Select Address(es)" column of the "Connect to PSA/ESA-E/L/EMC Spectrum Analyzer" window, then click <Close>, and click on the "Connect to PSA/ESA-E/L/EMC Spectrum Analyzer" again to search again for available instrument to connect to. (See image below)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subsequent searches will eventually find the instrument.
