Question

How can I save my log plot data to a CSV file type when using the option 226 Phase Noise personality on the PSA or ESA?

Answer

In the Phase Noise personality, the log plot data can only be saved as a binary file with the .lpt extension by pressing:

                               [View/Trace] > {More} > {Load/Save} > {Drive A:} > {Save Trace}

While these .lpt files were only intended for use within the Phase Noise personality itself there is an unsupported way to convert these files into a .csv file for use in most spreadsheet programs. To do so you must first transfer the saved .lpt file to a PC via the floppy disk. You can then use the unsupported utility below to convert the binary file into a comma-separated variable (.csv) file format.

After saving this utility to your computer, run the program and follow the instructions it presents.

The free BenchVue software for PSA/ESA may be used to transfer screen images, but not data, from this personality. The latest version of BenchVue may be found here:  BenchVue Software
