How do I fix: unable to change GPIB settings on an M9037A or M9537A Embedded Controller?

This issue applies to systems with the following software and symptoms:

• M9037A or M9537A Embedded Controller
• IO Libraries Suite 17.1 or later
• User is unable to change GPIB settings of the M9037A’s GPIB port in Connection Expert, or settings quickly revert after changes are made in Connection Expert

To resolve this issue:

1. Open the following file in notepad.exe*:
   
   %programdata%\Keysight\Keysight IO Libraries\DeviceIO\DeviceIO.config
2. If this file doesn’t exist, then you are not affected by this issue, contact your local Technical Contact Center for further assistance –www.keysight.com/find/contactus
3. In the DeviceIO.config file, change the following text:

5. Save the file
6. Reboot
7. Make your changes in Connection Expert
    

*Note: The %programdata% folder is hidden by default, so copy and paste the entire file path into the File Open dialog.
