Keysight Power Sensor Calibration
Get better test results with Keysight Calibration
Five reasons you should choose Keysight
1. Highly reliable calibration
Keysight delivers reliable, high quality calibration that is due to our global calibration processes, environmentally controlled laboratories, and constant effort to reduce measurement uncertainties.
2. Verification of connector pin depth
Power sensors go through an initial “zero-and-cal” process before use which results in the number of times a power sensor connects and disconnects to be higher than that for other instruments. This action causes early degradation of the input connector and leads to measurement errors and repeatability problems. To prevent power sensor measurement errors, Keysight technicians visually check the connector condition and measure the pin depth. This periodic inspection ensures early detection of abnormalities and provides you with higher confidence in your measurements.
3. Calibration factor update
To alleviate errors caused by aging, drift, and connector conditions, power sensors require calibration factor frequency, and linearity corrections. The Keysight power sensors store the calibration factors in an internal EEPROM. Without periodic calibration factor updates, power measurements reference older and invalid information. Keysight is the only service provider that can properly update the EEPROMs in present-generation Keysight power sensors.
4. Comparison of new and previous calibration factors
Keysight’s power sensor calibration includes a “Calibration Factor Deviation” functional test. The test measures calibration factor deviation between periodic calibrations, then compares it to the specified maximum uncertainty of the power sensor. This process provides more insight into how the power sensor performs over time. See Functional Test for Keysight Power Sensors for more information.
5. Accredited calibrations
Keysight has 35 calibration sites in 18 countries that are accredited by 16 accreditation bodies, including ANAB, CNAS, UDAS, and JCSS.
Maintain Your Sensors Performance
Keysight power sensor calibration includes:
• Pin-depth measurement
• Reflection coefficient measurement
• Linearity measurement
• Frequency characteristic measurement
• Calibration factor calculation
• EEPROM data update
The Keysight power sensors listed below contain an internal EEPROM that stores calibration factors. Maintaining a sensor’s performance requires a periodic EEPROM update as well as the calibration steps #3 through #6 above. Keysight strongly recommends using Keysight calibration for the following sensors:
• E4412/13A
• E9300 Series
• N1920 Series
• N8480 Series
• U2000 Series
• U8480 Series
