How do I upgrade my E7515A UXM Wireless Test Set?
Frequency and feature options of the UXM are sold at the time of instrument purchase. These are also available as your testing needs change to upgrade at a later date. The upgrade option details can be found in the tables below. It is advisable that you view each row for the upgrade of interest, select and read any linked items and view the installation note details before purchasing and installing the upgrade. In many cases, a license key will be required to activate the internal hardware upgrades. The license certificate and web access is required to redeem a license key. The upgrade sections are divided into three categories as follows:
- Internal Hardware Upgrades (Ex. Second Cell or Internal Applications Server)
- External Hardware Upgrades (Ex. Rackmount Kits)
- Instrument Software (Ex. Frequency Range, Channel Emulator)
Internal Hardware Upgrades:
Before a hardware upgrade is purchased the following steps should be taken:
- View the installation instructions by selecting the "Available" links in the tables below for the desired upgrade option.
- Determine from the installation instructions the complexity of the installation and whether you will perform the upgrade yourself or have a Keysight Service Center do it for you.
- Review the installation instructions to see what the required adjustments and performance tests are once the upgrade is installed.
- Required adjustment and performance verification tests are only offered by a Keysight Service Center.
If an upgrade option is going to be installed by an Keysight Service Center, additional labor charges will apply. Your Keysight field engineer can provide an all inclusive quote for this.
All instrument adjustments are automated and require the use of the Keysight Performance Verification & Adjustment Software.
Some hardware upgrades will require the redemption and installation of a license key file to activate the option. Once a redemption certificate is received the license key file can be redeemed at the Keysight Software License Redemption Website.

1 While the completion of the recommended adjustments and performance tests for a given option upgrade does verify the functionality of the option, it does not guarantee that the entire instrument meets all published specifications. A full instrument calibration is the only way to guarantee that all instrument specifications are being met.

Instrument Software Update:
- The software update package for the UXM Wireless Test Set contains the hardware control panel, the measurement application and all other updates required by the individual measurement assemblies inside the instrument.
- Keysight recommends updating the instrument software version whenever an internal hardware upgrade or measurement application is installed into the Test Set.

Measurement Applications:
- Measurement Applications require the redemption and installation of a license key file (.lic). Measurement application upgrades are meant to be performed by the customer, and no adjustments or performance verification tests are required.
