Technical Overview
Having problems with clock measurement? Getting frequencies that are too high? Getting high false failures in production?
Introducing the Keysight Technologies, Inc. clock measurement modules (CMM) for the i3070 in-circuit test application. It comes with three types of clock signal measurement to meet your different circuit topologies, from low power 32 kHz crystal to high frequency 350 MHz differential clock signals:
CMM1 for measuring single-ended clock signal at 3.3V logic level, e.g. LVTTL, LVCMOS.
CMM2 for direct measurement on crystal, including the most challenging low power 32 kHz real time clock crystal using CMM2L.
CMM3 for measuring differential clock signals, e.g. ECL, PECL, LVPECL, LVDS.
Ease of use
Automatic input threshold detection and adjustment. No need to determine and set threshold to detect your clock signal. You no longer need to keep changing thresholds to get your test to run stably in production.
Small and easy to add inside fixture
Small package design 1.05” (L) x 0.6” (W) x 0.4” (H) approximately together with insulated package allows it to be placed almost anywhere inside the fixture. This is important to keep the input wires short to minimize noise and interference.
Plug and play with built-in relay
Simply put, the CMM replaces the wire(s) from the test probe(s) to the tester interface pin(s) and connect it to a 3.3 V power supply. When not powered, it provides straight through connection just like your original wire. So, your unpowered tests (pins, shorts, analog in-circuit, TestJet or VTEP) will work the same way without modifications. When powered, the built-in relay separates the input(s) from the output(s) and divides the input to generate the output. So, you simply measure the divided clock signal at 3.3 V LVTTL level (default threshold 1.4 V) within the frequency range (20 MHz) of any hybrid pin on the i3070 system.
(Please note that output on CMM3 comes out on a separate pin to allow the use of receiver C on the control card for higher frequency measurement).
Maximum production uptime
Rugged design plus high reliability maximize production uptime. Connector design allows quick replacement in case of hardware failure, minimizing production downtime. Color coding makes it easy for the repair operator to identify the correct replacement.
