Help Me Find My Host Information

What is a Host?

A host is an instrument, PC or USB key that can have licenses installed on it. Installing licenses on a host enables optional features or the ability to install and/or run new software releases.

What is my Host ID?

For PC hosted applications, your Host ID is generated by the Keysight License Manager running on your PC. It has the format PCSERNO followed by a uniquely generated alpha numeric code (e.g. PCSERNO,AB12345678) and does NOT relate to any printed serial number on your PC.

The E7515A UXM wireless test set also uses the PCSERNO,AB12345678 Host ID format. Note that the UXM can be configured to include more than one PC (host) running licensed software. See the E7515A UXM Getting Started Guide at www.keysight.com/find/UXM-manuals for help in identifying the appropriate PC (host) for your software and the corresponding Host ID for license redemption.

For E6621A, N6050AS, N6051A and N6052A licenses, your Host ID is a combination of the instrument model number (E6621A) and its serial number (e.g. E6621A,MY12345678).

Note: It is important that you enter the correct Host ID. Your license will not enable the new features if the Host ID does not exactly match your PC, instrument or USB Key.  Also note that Fixed Perpetual (-xFP) licenses are locked to a specific host. Only Transportable Perpetual (-xTP) licenses can be moved between instruments.

Where Can I Find my PC's host ID?

After installing the relevant software applications, you can find your PC's host ID using the Keysight License Manager. Start the Keysight License Manager using:
Start -> Programs -> Keysight -> Keysight License Manager.
The host ID for your PC will be displayed in the "host ID" field. You can copy this value to the clipboard by pressing the relevant "Copy" button.

The host ID will have the format: PCSERNO, followed by 2 letters and 8 digits (e.g. PCSERNO,AB12345678).

Where Can I Find my E7515A UXM’s host ID?

The UXM can be configured to include more than one PC (host) running licensed software. See the E7515A UXM Getting Started Guide at www.keysight.com/find/UXM-manuals for help in identifying the appropriate PC (host) for your software and the corresponding Host ID for license redemption.
