How to Find Your Instrument's Serial Number

Scroll down to find instructions for obtaining the Serial Number (which is the Host ID) for your specific Keysight instrument.

For the following Logic and Protocol Analyzers, hardware node locked licenses are redeemed against the instrument’s serial number or each module’s serial number.

  • 16800 Series Portable Logic Analyzers and E58XXA Upgrades
  • 16900 Series Modular Logic Analyzers and E58XXA Upgrades
  • U4154A Logic Analyzer module and U4154U Upgrades
  • U4301A PCIe Gen3 Protocol Analyzer and U4301U Upgrades
  • U4421A MIPI D-PHY Protocol Analyzer and U4421U Upgrades
  • U4998A HDMI/MHL Protocol Compliance Module and U4998U Upgrades

To ensure the correct serial number is used for redemption, use the serial number that is displayed in the dialog when you select Help > Logic Analyzer Upgrade... in the Logic and Protocol Analyzer application.

The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces (Example: DE01020304 or MY01020304)

  • U4305A Exerciser Module for PCIe 8 Gbps and U4305U Upgrades

The serial number is located on the top of the module. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces. (Example: DE12345678)

  • N5310U SW License Upgrades-Extensions for N5306A PCIe Gen2 Analyzer and N5309A PCIe Gen2 Exerciser

The serial number is located on the bottom of the module. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces. (Example: DE12345678)

  • U305XA/U SerialTek SATA/SAS Analyzers and BIST Generators and Upgrades

The serial number is located on the back of the hardware. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces. (Example: US12345678)

  • U4611A Analyzer for USB 3.0/2.0, 9GB and B4611U Upgrades
  • U4611B Analyzer for USB 3.0/2.0, 18GB and U4611BU Upgrades

The serial number is located on the bottom of the chassis or can be found in the dialog that comes up when you select File > Change Device Selection... in the protocol analyzer capture control software. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces (Example: MY12345678)

  • N5343A DigRF Exerciser Module and N5343U Upgrades
  • N5344A DigRF Analyzer Module and N5344U Upgrades

The serial number is located on the module. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces. (Example: US12345678)

  • 1733U Upgrade 2 and 4Gbps Fibre Channel 4-port SAN Test Module
  • 1735U Upgrade 1,2 and 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel Multifunction Protocol Analyzer and Traffic
  • 1736U Upgrade 1, 2,4 and 8 Gbps Fibre Channel Multi Functional Interface Module

The serial number is located on the bottom of the module. The serial number consists of 2 uppercase letters followed by 8 digits with no spaces (Example: DE12345678)
