How does the Microsoft end of support for Windows XP affect my Keysight AFM or NanoIndenter?

As of April 8, 2014, Microsoft has ceased supporting the Windows XP operating system. This means that no further security patches or updates will be delivered by Microsoft beyond this date.

If your AFM or NanoIndenter product was shipped prior to March 2011, it shipped with Windows XP, and is no longer updated. Your product will still function properly, but there may be risks associated with it being connected to the internet, and some organizations may restrict connecting your instrument to the internal network due to these risks.
