PCB Coax in EMProSmaller design form factors, coupled with increasing frequency and data rates, now make it harder to model designs with simple circuit models. Numerical electromagnetic field solvers, with their highly accurate simulation results, have been adopted by many design engineers as a key solution to overcoming this dilemma for a wide range of applications.

EMPro is an electromagnetic simulation software that solves various EM problems associated with arbitrary-shape passive structures like connectors, bond wires, antennas, RCS, packages, and more. It comes with two main electromagnetic field solvers - Finite Element Method (FEM) and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) - and both the Eigenmode and 2D port solvers. It also features a full 3D solid modeling environment and can import/export 3D CAD files such as ACIS and Pro-E .

EMPro outputs various types of data including typical S-parameters, antenna gain, TDR, and E/H/B/J field data. In this hands-on workshop by using the software, designers can ensure their designs pass regulatory and operator compliance, such as Over-The-Air performance, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), and Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC), before going into expensive physical testing.
