Does the 85070E-020 high temperature probe have a different recommended minimum sample thickness when utilized with different Analyzers?

No. The 85070E option 020 recommended minimum sample thickness is applicable and equivalent for Vector Network Analyzers as well as RF-IV Impedance Analyzers.

The minimum recommended sample thickness per page 8 of the 85070E Data Sheet is defined by the equations below.

The required depth of the signal penetration into a sample is the same regardless whether utilizing a vector network analyzer (employing the reflection coefficient method) or an impedance analyzer (employing the RF-VI method).

Note that the minimal thickness requirement is conservative and is intended to provide an estimate of how thick a material should be. The recommended minimum sample thickness is not an exact value.

Additionally, while the signal penetration depth reduces with increasing frequency, the required sample thickness is independent of the instrument or measurement method used (reflection coefficient vs. RF-VI measurement method).
