Can the counter make simultaneous measurements on channels 1 and 2?

No. The channels are independent and can be configured separately; however, they do not have separate processors that would allow simultaneous measurements.

Switching between channels either from the front panel or programmatically stops the current measurement, but retains the channel configuration. The (newly) selected channel must be re-initiated for measurements to begin. The re-initiation clears the output buffer, so each channel’s measurement data should be stored (internally or externally) before measurements on the other channel are started.

The only measurement that can be made simultaneously on both channels is frequency ratio. Channels 1 and 2 are measured simultaneously under internal counter control. The user has no control over the internal process and the individual frequency measurements displayed (CH 1/CH 2) cannot be retrieved using SCPI commands. Only the ratio measurement is returned over the remote interface.
