Can the 4294A display a polar chart and an R vs. jX (G vs. jB) diagram?

Yes, graphic display format of a polar chart and a real part vs. imaginary part diagram can be selected when the measurement parameter of the 4294A is set to “COMPLEX X-Y”. These graphic formats are available for the COMPLEX X-Y measurement mode only.

Polar chart: displays the magnitude and phase angle of complex impedance / admittance as shown in the following example diagram. Marker function provides readouts of marker frequency, absolute value (|Z|) and phase angle (θZ) of complex impedance, and/or absolute value (|Y|) and phase angle (θY) of complex admittance at once.

Real part vs. imaginary part diagram (complex vector diagram):
An example of the real part vs. imaginary part diagram is shown below. The horizontal axis scale of the orthogonal X-Y diagram represents the real part (R) of complex impedance (or G of complex admittance.) The vertical axis scale represents the imaginary part (jX) of complex impedance (or jB of complex admittance.) Marker function provides readouts of marker frequency, R and X values of complex impedance, and/or G and B values of complex admittance at once.
