RF, MW and Analog Filters Synthesis Using Genesys S/Filter

White Papers

Unlike traditional template approach to the design of RF, microwave and analog filters where the response shapes and filter topologies are fixed by standard forms such as Butterworth and Chebyshev, this white paper introduces a more versatile design technique called direct synthesis with network transforms. This technique allows the filter rejection response to be customized by the interactive placement of transmission zeros, followed by the extraction of suitable topologies for actual implementation. Network transforms allows the chosen topology to be further modified for more practical and economic realization without altering the filter response.
