Can the 16453A measure film materials thinner than 0.3 mm?

Though 0.3 mm is not absolute limit of MUT's thickness, measurement uncertainty significantly increases for thinner MUTs than 0.3 mm. The air-gaps, which may be present between the MUT and the electrodes of 16453A, cause greater measurement errors for thinner MUT. To reduce the measurement uncertainty due to air-gap, it is recommended to pre-form film electrodes on both sides of MUT. For the method of pre-forming the film electrodes, refer to paragraph 2.5.6 of Application Note 1369-1.
