Test System Design PS-X10-100

Data Sheets

Data Sheet

  • Ensure the proper design of a test system that meets the required functional specifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of the test system and the ability to test products with optimum settings
  • Improve time to market and focus on core competencies rather than system design

 Service Description

Keysight Technologies', Inc. Test System Design service is a structured and planned set of engineering activities that lead to the functional design of a test and measurement system. This system will proficiently meet your needs as defined by a requirements specification. If a specification is not available, it can be developed as part of the Test System Design service or as a formal System Requirements development process depending on the size and complexity of the anticipated final system. The deliverable produced by this activity is called a Functional

Design Specification.

 Service Scope

A qualified Keysight technical consultant will conduct an onsite evaluation to analyze your needs. The Test System Design effort aims to produce a design suitable for bid or proposal and typically involves considerable interaction between your engineering team and Keysight design engineers.

This service typically encompasses the following activities:

  • Systems engineering
  • Software design
  • Custom hardware design
  • Data network design
  • Support planning
  • Project management

In conjunction with these activities, your engineering team will be involved in periodic design reviews, any necessary benchmarking, and generation of the acceptance test criteria. The final outcome of this process is the Functional Design Specification.

System requirements and test software may also be developed as optional services.

Business Need

  • Improve time to market
  • Control development costs
  • Improve cost of test
  • Improve quality
  • Improve efficiency
  • Increase productivity

What You Will Receive

Subject to final approval, the Functional Design Specification represents the blueprint for the actual physical test system execution and implementation.

The Functional Design Specification typically includes the following:

  • System description—an operational description of the desired system including:
  • Hardware and software functionality
  • Output capabilities
  • Measurement capabilities
  • Interface Test Adapter design
  • System performance verification
  • Configuration and physical characteristics—a detailed description of the hardware and software configuration including: Block diagrams
  • Data flow diagrams
  • Schematic drawings
  • Equipment list
  • Accept Test Criteria
  • Benchmarks
