Calibration is one of the critical factors that affect the accuracy and repeatability of any electronic measurement system. As components age and equipment experience changes in temperature or mechanical stress, system performance will gradually degrade. 

The Keysight Technologies, Inc. onsite system calibration ensures that your Keysight Medalist i3070 in-circuit test (ICT) will perform optimally on your production floor, providing you with that ‘as good as new’ confidence level in your testing integrity. 

This service is performed during office hours at your convenience, and with minimum disruption to the production schedule. This service includes all testing prescribed by Keysight to certify that the i3070 system is performing to specifications. 

A system calibration ensures that the i3070 system meets specifications when performing both analog and digital tests on the system. 

The calibration standards meet ISO 9000 requirements, thereby providing quality control for the i3070 system. It includes a full set of ‘pre-adjustment’ calibration measurements data using accredited calibrated-traceable instruments. 

Whenever ASRU adjustments are required, a second complete set of data is recorded after all adjustments have been completed. These ‘pre-adjustment’ measurements are stored and later printed on the calibration certificate.

They will show whether your i3070 system was within specifications when you last used it. This allows you to make an informed assessment about the validity of the testing you had been performing on your products while the i3070 system was not performing to specification. An i3070 system that is out of specification may negatively affect test coverage by causing bad parts to pass and good parts to fail.

i3070 System Calibration

An i3070 system calibration service is available for customers who desire comprehensive measurements and reporting. System calibration should be performed every six months.

This service uses a system calibration program (Keysight proprietary license protected software) and a traceable voltmeter and frequency counter to measure a DC voltage source, an AC voltage source, a resistor, and two oscillator frequencies.

These measurements are the foundation for all analog measurements and digital timing. These same parameters are also measured using the internal detectors in the i3070 system, and the measurements are compared to the standards set by the voltmeter and frequency counter to calibrate the detectors. A report is generated containing the measurement and uncertainty data.

After the calibration is completed, the data is entered into Keysight’s calibration administration and tracking system database to provide tracking of the calibration instruments.

A certificate of calibration and a calibration report will be delivered to the customer. An accredited certified traceable sticker is affixed to the system to indicate dates of the last and next calibration services.
