Why is the Noise Figure application closing down the spectrum analyzer application on my X-Series analyzer when I try to switch into Noise Figure m...

You can fix this issue without sending the analyzer in for repair by doing the following steps:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to D:\User_My_Documents\Instrument\My Documents\system
  2. Delete the files in the system folder
  3. Next navigate to D:\User_My_Documents\Instrument\My Documents\NFIG\state
  4. Delete the files in the state folder
  5. Now navigate to D:\User_My_Documents\Instrument\My Documents\System
  6. Delete the files in the system folder
  7. Cycle the power on the analyzer
  8. Once the analyzer is sweeping again, perform a mode switch from Spectrum Analyzer to Noise Figure and back again and everything should mode switch fine
  9. Cycle the power on the analyzer (yes, a 2nd time is needed)
  10. Once the analyzer is sweeping again, perform a mode switch from Spectrum Analyzer to Noise Figure and back again and re-verify that the mode switch is fine
