IO Libraries Suite: How do I install the E8491 driver when I upgrade from a previous release to IO Libraries Suite 15.1?

IO Libraries Revisions: Suite 15.1

The E8491 device driver will not install automatically if you upgrade from a previous release to IO Libraries Suite 15.1. This defect is fixed in IO Libraries Suite 15.5, which you can download at www.keysight.com/find/iosuite 

Follow the instructions below, based on the operating system that your PC is running:

Windows Vista

1. Copy the file:
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp\1394IPT.sys
   
   to the following location:
   
   C:\Windows\System32\drivers\1394IPT.sys
2. Open Windows Device Manager and navigate to the 'Other devices' category. Select the 'Unknown device' entry.
3. From the Device Manager menubar, select 'Action', then 'Update Driver Software...'.
4. In the wizard that appears, choose the option 'Browse my computer for driver software'.
5. In the next screen, enter the location
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp
   
   and click 'Next'
6. In the final screen that appears, click 'Close'.
7. Open Keysight Connection Expert to view and configure the E8491.

Windows XP

1. Copy the file:
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp\1394IPT.sys
   
   to the following location:
   
   C:\windows\system32\drivers\1394IPT.sys
   
2. Open Windows Device Manager and navigate to the 'Test & Measurement devices'. Select the 'Keysight E8491 1394 VXI controller' entry.
3. From the Device Manager menubar, select 'Action', then 'Update Driver...'.
4. In the Found New Hardware Wizard, select 'No, not this time', then click 'Next'.
5. Select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)', then click 'Next'.
6. Enter the location
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp\
   
   then click 'Next'.
7. On the final screen, click 'Finish'.
8. Open Keysight Connection Expert to view and configure the E8491.

Windows 2000

1. Copy the file:
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp\1394IPT.sys
   
   to the following location:
   
   C:\winnt\system32\drivers\1394IPT.sys
2. Open Windows Device Manager and navigate to the 'Test & Measurement devices' category. Select the 'Keysight E8491 1394 VXI controller' entry.
3. From the Device Manager menubar, select 'Action', then 'Properties'. In the new window that appears, select the 'Driver' tab, then click 'Update Driver...'.
4. In the wizard that appears, click 'Next'.
5. Select the option 'Search for a suitable driver for my device', then click 'Next'.
6. On the next screen, select 'Specify a location', then click 'Next'.
7. Enter the location
   
   C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\pnp\
   
   then click 'OK'.
8. On the next screen, click 'Next'.
9. On the final screen, click 'Finish'.
10. Open Keysight Connection Expert to view and configure the E8491.
