Automatic Logon for Windows on the ENA

Question

Is it possible to disable or enable the Automatic Logon for Windows on the ENA?

Answer

Yes. To disable or enable the Automatic logon for Windows in a Non-Domain System, perform the following:

[E5071C, E5072A, E5061B]

  1. Open User Accounts in Control Panel of the Windows
  2. Click Change the way users log on or off
  3. Change the Use the Welcome screen check box

[E5070B/71B, E5061A/62A]

  1. Open User Accounts in Control Panel of the Windows
  2. Change the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Change the Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete before logging on check box

Note that the ENA must be removed from the domain for the Automatic Log on to work. When shipped, the ENA is not configured as the member of the domain. If the configuration of the ENA is later changed so as to be a member of a domain, then the user account and the password must always be entered at startup. This is a security requirement of Windows. Due to this, Change the way users log on or off check box or Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete before logging on check box will not be available if the ENA is assigned to a domain.
